OK so Im gonna make this the somewhat quick version, but Im sure some of you are wondering about how things went on...
Thurs. night at 7:30 we came into the hospital to be induced (Lenah was very little on the ultrasound teus. and they were just wondering if my placenta was deteriorating a little and she wasnt getting the nutrients that she needed, so the induction). I had petocin running very slowly starting around 9pm until 7 am. Then Dr Gootjes came in and broke my water, Unfortunatly Lenah did NOT like that! She wanted her swimming pool back! Her heartrate would drop from the 140's to 60's each contraction. So they tried to put fluid back in me so that the cord would move cause they were concerned that it was wrapped around her. Well, the cord was what is called "prolapsed" which means that it was in front of Lenah's head trying to come out first. So each contraction (and later afterwards) her heartrate was dropping because her supply was getting cut off. So it was a very emergant csection for me!!! They threw Alex scrubs and before he could even get them on we were off to the OR. I got general anesthesia (there was no time for an epidural so unfortunatly I didnt get to see her right away or get to see Alex's reaction, but within a couple minutes our baby girl was born. VERY HEALTHY!!! Thank God! Alex got to go to the nursery and feed her her first bottle while I was in recovery. They didnt monitor me too long and once I woke up I felt wonderful (despite the incision pain) and got to see Alex and our lovely baby girl. She is so beautiful!!!
Im feeling really good and though slightly painful because of the csection (i got sliced open both vertical and horizontal so they could get her out quicker) Im feeling great and cant wait for my shower tommorow!!! : )
I cant get any pictures posted tonight! It wont respond to the server or something here in the hospital, but we'll work on it more tommorow!
